Well, it has been a busy week here in my studio. I finished up Chapter 15 of my second book, Faeries in the Snow, in which Alfred, the hobgoblin and the psychic twins have slipped into the mirror that hangs in the Long Gallery, looking for the lost girl in the glass. I have also been working on a large piece entitled Lady Octavia (the name should be immediately evident). Were she to stand she would be nearly 30 inches tall, but because she is so top heavy I have decided to make her a seated figure. This sea faery shall also have a pet seahorse, both of which are one of a kind, and are sculpted from polymer clay. The lady has silicone eyes.
I had some issues with the initial proportion sketch, as I had mismeasured the head. A quarter of an inch can make a HUGE difference!
And finally for today, here is a detail shot of the little seahorse!
